I bet you never heard a shocking story like this in your life. A customer of Ola cab was charged a bill of Rs.915,887 for
the journey of 450km.
Mr.Rathish Sekar (a private consultant working on government projects) was charged Rs.915,887 for a trip to Nizamabad and he also returned on the same day.
Mr.Sekhar booked an Ola cab from his mobile and the predicted fare was around Rs.5000. He started his journey around 8am from Jubilee Hills, after taking a 2 hour break at Nizamabad he returned with the same cab around 5:20pm.
This is when the sky breaks on Mr.Sekhar's head, when he saw the bill displayed the distance travelled was 85427kms and the total amount was Rs.915,887, due to some technical problem there was no dot between the numbers but the display changed instantly to Rs.9158.87. But this is also double the amount predicted by the Ola app.
Finally the Ola cab driver Mr.Sunil Kumar called Ola support, and the recalculated bill was Rs.4812. The whole process took about 30 mins.
How a simple journey can become someone's biggest nightmare.
