Akira is an action thriller where Sonakshi will be seen in a new avatar kicking and punching bad guys directed by AR Murugadoss.
Films like Ghajini and Holiday directed by A R Murugadoss, decided to remake of a Tamil film "Mouna Guru" as Akira.
The film starts by showing the journey of a small town girl (Sonakshi) and when she moves to Mumbai caught in a police racket. Anurag Kashyap plays a role of an corrupt police officer and because of this role you might like this film. His screen time is more than the leading lady Sonakshi because his role has more value in the film. The first half is more entertaining because of some scenes like, Akira learning martial arts while growing up.
Akira is a girl who don't tolerate any nonsense and fights for what is right. Action scenes are well choreographed. Konkona Sen Sharma plays an interesting role of a pregnant cop. But there is not much surprise is the film.
